Today’s 132nd Army Band is a descendant of the Army Guard’s famed 32nd “Red Arrow” Division bands of WW I and WW II. Many band members are music students or band directors, and others represent various civilian professions in their hometowns throughout Wisconsin and nearby states. But when they come together as the 132nd Army Band, they are all musicians in one of the finest military bands in the Nation.
The 132nd inaugurates Wisconsin governors, has played honors for the President of the United States, helped commission the battleship USS Wisconsin, has played with the Milwaukee and Beloit/Janesville Symphony Orchestras, commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the Wisconsin Guard’s World War II service in Australia, welcomed home each of the Wisconsin Guard’s Desert Storm units, and played for military ceremonies and public performances in Germany.

Other selections include Four Dances from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, Africa (Toto), patriotic favorites and several marches.
Upcoming on the local and area summer music schedule are the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band’s Americana Concert in the Lakeside Park bandstand at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th of July. On July 7 the Symphonic Band will present its annual Family Night Concert at Buttermilk Creek Park at 7:15 p.m., followed by a concert at Firemen’s Park in Campbellsport on Thursday, July 8 starting at 7:30 p.m.
