The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will open the Buttermilk Festival music series in Fond du Lac on Wednesday, June 21. The orchestra will be under the direction of Assistant Conductor Yaniv Dinur. Born in Jerusalem in 1981, Dinur has studied conducting in Israel and America and has performed with orchestras in Israel, Europe, the United States, Canada and Mexico. He recently was appointed music director of the New Bedford Symphony in Massachusetts and will begin his tenure there in September.

Following the 2016-17 season, Maestro de Waart will become the MSO’s conductor laureate.

The performance is funded through general major sponsor and co-sponsor donations, contributions from Friends of the Festival and a free-will offering that will be received during the concert.
