The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will present the 40th annual Family Night at Buttermilk Creek Park in Fond du Lac on Wed., July 10. Under the direction of Associate Conductor Jill Wagner, assisted by Nickole Kawleski, the concert will begin at 7:15 p.m.
The program will give children an opportunity to hear many solo instruments. The familiar Galop from Kabalevsky’s “The Comedians” will feature Dr. Don Steward on xylophone. Euphonium soloist Chris Barnes will play an early 20th century virtuoso piece: Bride of the Waves, and clarinetist Mary Liz Cary will be featured on Immer Kleiner.
Tom Nachtwey and Patrick Disterhaft will perform a trumpet duet: Ida and Dottie, and a vocal ensemble comprised of Liz Jacobsen, Marissa Krueger, Lexi Krueger, Megan Elford, Erin Steward, and Emily Elford will be featured with pianist Don Steward in Eric Whitacre’s The Seal Lullaby.
