The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will perform at Firemen’s Park in Campbellsport on Thursday, July 8. The evening will open with music by the Fond du Lac Senior Center SCAMP Band at 6:15 p.m. and the Symphonic Band concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will be conducted by Associate Conductor Jill Wagner and Assistant Conductor Nickole Kawleski. A native of Campbellsport and graduate of Campbellsport High School, the former Jill Knickel completed music degrees at UW-Oshkosh followed by a Masters in Music Education at UW-Madison. She was the band director at Reedsville High School for sixteen years, and in June, 2014 she retired after several years as band director at Theisen Middle School in Fond du Lac. A member of the Wisconsin Bandmasters Association, Jill performs on tuba with several area ensembles including Dorf Kapelle and Wisconsin Symphonic Winds.
Assistant conductor Nickole Kawleski will also be the featured instrumental soloist, performing a traditional solo for alto saxophone, Nola by Felix Arndt. A long-time band member, Kawleski serves as the Symphonic Band’s personnel manager and currently is the band director at Theisen Middle School.

The program will feature many familiar selections including Scott Joplin’s The Entertainer Rag, a medley of John Williams’ themes from Star Wars, E.T. and Jurassic Park; selections from favorite Pixar movies, and the marches National Emblem by Bagley and The Klaxon by Fillmore. Old time songs are featured in “Themes Like Old Times” and the concert will wind up with everyone’s favorite Sousa march, Stars and Stripes Forever.
Concert funding is being provided by the Campbellsport Chamber of Commerce, Fond du Lac County, Wright Veterinary Services and Schlaefer Optometrists.
