Conductor Emeritus Ray Wifler, assisted by Music Director Dale Shipe, will lead the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band in music from  “The Musical Stage” on Wed., July 26. The 7:15 p.m. performance is the sixth in the Wednesday night Buttermilk Festival series at Buttermilk Creek Park in Fond du Lac.

 

Soprano Elise Thelen Winkel will sing Hear Ye Israel from “Elijah” and Sempre Libera from “La Traviata.” Clarinetist John Hall will perform the theme music from the movie “Cinema Paradiso.”

 

The Band will play themes from Verdi’s “La Traviata,” Blessed Are They from Brahms’ “A German Requiem” and selections from the Broadway musicals “Purlie” and “Guys and Dolls.” Completing the program is a medley of tunes from Tin Pan Alley and a Sousa march, El Capitan.
