The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will present a joint concert with the Hartland Community Band on Wednesday, August 7. The event begins at 7:15 p.m. at the Wifler Performance Center in Buttermilk Creek Park.

The program will open with a trombone choir playing Liberty Fanfare and the National Anthem. Trombones will also be featured in Harold Arlen’s Blues in the Night. Other program highlights include Buglers’ Holiday by Leroy Anderson, selections from Bohemian Rhapsody, Puszta (four gypsy dances), and El Gato Montes (Spanish pasodoble). The two bands will combine to end the concert with the Thirty-Second Division March by Theodore Steinmetz.

A food concession will be available throughout the evening. The free concert is sponsored by the City of Fond du Lac, and will be moved to the County Fairgrounds Recreation Building in the event of bad weather.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14 the Kids from Wisconsin return to Fond du Lac for their 25th consecutive performance at the Buttermilk Festival, and on Aug. 15 the Symphonic Band will perform at Sterr Park in Lomira at 7:30 p.m.
