The Kids from Wisconsin will return to Fond du Lac for their 24th annual free appearance at Buttermilk Creek Park on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7:15 p.m.  The Lighthouse Big Band and the Fond du Lac Area Children’s Chorale will entertain prior to the Kids’ performance, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Kids from Wisconsin 2018 show theme, “Shine the Light”, marks their milestone 50th year, as they perform from June 21 to August 18 in over 35 hometowns across the state and twice daily at the Wisconsin State Fair. All-time audience favorites will be featured along with five decades of Broadway. In this 50th season, the KFW will have performed for approximately 10 million people across Wisconsin and the Midwest. The revue is produced in collaboration with some of the best writers, arrangers, and choreographers in the country.

This year’s cast includes Alex Turicik on guitar from Plymouth, along with singers/dancers Bridget Bullard from Kohler, Holly Meyer from Mayville, and Miranda Parker from Hartford.

 

Troupe members not only perform for thousands over the summer, but are also trained to provide a hands-on, performing arts workshops in many of the communities where they perform, helping to spread the love of performing to youth ages 7-13.

Sponsors for this year’s performance are the Francis R. and Ruth E. Oberreich Foundation,  Noon Rotary Club, Service League, Lakeside Evening Kiwanis, Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and Steve and Lynne Uecker. Funding for the Buttermilk Festival is also provided by local business and individual donors known collectively as the Friends of the Festival, and a free-will offering that will be received at the concert.

A food concession, serving sandwiches, soda and desserts, will be available from 6:00 p.m. on. In the event of bad weather, the concert will be moved to the EXPO Center at the County Fairgrounds.
